The Wonder Woman short film goes Viral

Yesterday, Good Morning America discussed the Wonder Woman short and asked the questions many of her fans would die to know... When, WB, when we will Diana be in her own film?

I love that the WW short has gained so much attention. From the GMA clip, they mentioned that the short has over 2.5 million hits. Well, today it has hit over 3.2 million. With this much buzz, WB should be holding a meeting and rethinking their plans for the upcoming years.

My Top 5 (really 6) Secret Identity Transformations

Sometimes, life would be so simple and more interesting if we could spin in circle and change into something else.

Or at least into some hot new fashions.

Growing up, I was obsessed with these transformations scenes for years. How cool would it be to do this? Okay, I'm geeking out... a moment please.

Alright, so you know the score, I talked about these transformations and now, I have to share them.

I'm calling Poppycock on the latest 'Wonder Woman in the Man of Steel sequel' Story

Bleeding Cool posted a HUGE rumor this past week.

They asked if the mystery casting of a woman in the next Man of Steel film is Wonder Woman? When I saw the post... I laughed.

In the midst of Comic Book movie gossip, of course, talking about Wonder Woman is gold. But this post was clearly pushing the gossip wagon. However, some folks took it as fact, including totally believing this story and even claiming how real it is.

But seriously... It's such a vague ass rumor, (sorry for being bitchy) that you have to be a little daft to believe it.

If you read the BC post, you can easily see it for what it is. However, if you can't, I will break it down for you.

Let's start with some of their statements:
I’ve learned today that they’re looking for a new female lead, but the information they’re giving is incredibly light.
I can tell you that she’ll be somewhere between twenty five and thirty three – or at least leave the impression of a woman in that age range, whatever that might be.
I can tell you that she needs to be physically strong. They’re specific about that.
Okay, that part was truly all you need to know. This is a random casting call. WW is not a random casting call. If they were casting her, trust, they wouldn't have put out a random call for her. They know WW is a big role and a big deal, I'm sure they have someone in mind IF, she's in the movie. Again, I express IF.

Another one:
And I can tell you that the discussion in some agencies who have been submitting actors for this role is that they’re sending up candidates for the role of Wonder Woman. They don’t know that it’s her, it’s just become their expectation, or at least a rumor that’s coloured their conception.
Chile, they been sending actresses up to the main office since it was announced months ago that a Justice League film will be made. These agencies are desperately trying to get their actresses in the mix. It's their job.

Also, this same type of rumor came up during the first Man of Steel film. Folks thought that WW was in that one too, but turned out to be Faora-Ul.

Bleeding Cool was just asking a question and trying to figure something out. But in no way this was proof that Diana is about to make her debut.

I could be wrong, but I have a feeling I'm not.

Oh, DC/WB... Rainfall Films made a Wonder Woman short film - PICS

A new Wonder Woman short is coming in September.

A company called Rainfall Films has completed filming on a WW short film and we will see it soon. The short film stars Rileah Vanderbilt as Diana and its directed by Sam Balcomb.

From the pics, it looks good. I will review the short when it comes out.

Gina Torres speaks about being Wonder Woman

Vulture magazine asked Gina Torres about being a fan-favorite to play Wonder Woman.

She said:
"You know, she is a superhero that has been a part of my life since I can remember, and it is incredibly gratifying and heartwarming and wonderful that this campaign continues to have a life — even though it might be maybe three or four people that are keeping it alive. [Big laugh.] I love them! I don't know how realistic it is. Of course I would love to do that. Who wouldn't in their right mind? And why not? Well, there are all kinds of reasons why not. But yes, it is a fantasy. And it's a hoot. It's a hoot that every now and then, all these years go by, and people are still thinking that I could do that; I could make that wonderful and they will come and see it. I can't even tell you how that feels."
This is so cool. I think she should be in the project in some form or fashion.

10 Reasons Why I Don't want CW to make a Wonder Woman series

You know... After thinking, crying, screaming and ranting. I think I have come to the conclusion that I don't want CW to do a Wonder Woman series.

I would like a WW series, I just don't want CW near it at all. But why am I all of a sudden against this idea? Well, I have 10 reasons why.

  1. Lack of strong female characters. CW isn't known for strong woman roles in their series. They have a hard time maintaining a series with a powerful woman. Nikita is their only example, but that poor show is on the struggle bus. While they're on point with damsel in distress roles, I'm not sure they can give us the Amazing Amazon.
  2. Casting. CW loves to cast Soap Opera/Gay Porn/MTV Undressed folks for their shows. In their world, everybody's hot, including the demons and mass murderers. I don't mind the eye candy, however too much of it can water down the true essence of the story.
  3. Storytelling. Smallville spent 10 years going nowhere. And while Arrow is decent, it's still dependent on eye candy. They will get the teen and college student viewers, but I'm not confident they will keep an adult interested for the long haul.
  4. Storytelling part 2. WW has a rich history and great mythology. Could the writers at CW convey her heritage well or f*ck it up? Again, SMALLVILLE.
  5. Marketing. Real talk, the new Arrow posters are hot, but if you had no idea about the Green Arrow, you'd think these posters were a Sean Cody production. I feel like they wouldn't know how to market Diana and possibly turn her into a sexy warrior vixen.
  6. Lovelorn. I feel like CW would make the WW series into an updated Young Romance live action comic. Her back and forth with Steve could become a typical CW love drama and that would kill the Diana we know and love.
  7. Costume. In CW's version, she would probably wear a choker and Cover Girl make up.
  8. Acting chops. They will have to find a woman who can make us believe in WW's cause and purpose. Not sure they can do that.
  9. Writing. Will the series fall into the normal CW trappings? Too many pop cultural references and no substance? Possible.
  10. Diversity. They're getting better with this piece, but will they stick to Diana's true look, i.e. not so White looking? And her supporting cast, will they be a diverse bunch or will the melting pot only apply to the villains?
CW has made strong strides in their programming, still I can't help but to see a train wreck coming around the bend. The casting of Flash wasn't flattering and it makes me wonder what starlet would they put in those satin tights... Oh, knowing CW, her costume would actually be satin.

Question of the Day

We got a new Batman (the 5th) for film... But when will we get our first actress for a Wonder Woman film?
