Tim Tebow Cut AGAIN

Tim Tebow has been cut by the New England Patriots, according to ESPN.

This is the third team in 18 months, the third team!

I am beginning to wonder if this is the end of his career. A third time is not the charm for Tim.

SCOTUS First: Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will Officiate a Gay Wedding

This is cool.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will officiate a gay marriage ceremony of Kennedy Center President Michael M. Kaiser and his partner John Roberts. The wedding will take place at the performing arts center in DC.

Justice Ginsburg will be the first member of the Supreme Court to do this.

In an interview in the Washington Post, she said:
“I think it will be one more statement that people who love each other and want to live together should be able to enjoy the blessings and the strife in the marriage relationship. It won’t be long before there will be another.”
Again, this is very cool.

Glenn Greenwald's Man was a 'Mule', smuggling 58K Classified Intelligence Documents according to British Authorities

Glenn Greenwald may have gotten his man, David Miranda, in some deep trouble. After being detained by British authorities for 9 hours, they found about 58,000 classified intelligence documents on David and a password in his pocket.

According to Politico, all the info is contained in a 13-page report, that talks about the documents which includes personal information about UK intelligence staff, the disclosure of which "would cause harm to UK national security."

Now, Scotland Yard has launched a criminal investigation on David and if they find the evidence they need, chile, somebody is going away for a long, long time.

Glenn continues to claim that this is all false, but the more his name pops up in stuff, the more I see a pattern of foolishness.

Glenn, your man is in Danger, girl.

I Cut my Hair!

So I did it, I cut off half of my hair!

I don't know why I decided to do it, but I thought it was time. My hair stylist checked on me a few times as he was cutting my locs. But to be honest, it felt great to let go of my hair, the length and the energy. It was a great experience to let go and to let it be.

Here's the aftermath
My hair was down to the small of my back, now it's a inch from my shoulders.

Gay Married Couples get Federal Tax Recognition Regardless of State

President Obama and Treasury Sec. Jack Lew

The government has spoken! The IRS will give gay married couples full tax benefits, regardless of where they live in the US.

In a statement from Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, he said:
“This ruling also assures legally married same-sex couples that they can move freely throughout the country knowing that their federal filing status will not change. Today’s ruling provides certainty and clear, coherent tax filing guidance for all legally married same-sex couples nationwide. It provides access to benefits, responsibilities and protections under federal tax law that all Americans deserve.”
The Treasury Department also announced:
The U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) today ruled that same-sex couples, legally married in jurisdictions that recognize their marriages, will be treated as married for federal tax purposes. The ruling applies regardless of whether the couple lives in a jurisdiction that recognizes same-sex marriage or a jurisdiction that does not recognize same-sex marriage.
I bet NOM and haters are going to claim some type of conspiracy against them and family values once this info goes viral.

Gay Activists, Stop with These Pointless Boycotts

Okay, we have had two boycotts gear towards Russia and their anti-gay law. One, was dumping Stoli vodka and the other was dumping Coke. The coke one is recent. The idea was to force Coca-Cola to not sponsor the Winter Games. However, these boycotts are truly baffling to me because, there are no real impact to them.

When Dan Savage started the #DumpStoli campaign, many gays jumped aboard. I don't know why folks jumped so quick. Maybe because it had Dan's name on it, whatever, folks claimed it was the second coming of boycotts. But as the weeks rolled out, we saw several gay businesses participate... But that was it! It didn't catch on and within a month, the initiative was over. There were posts claiming it worked, but those claims came from folks who wanted to save face and didn't want to admit defeat.

Now, there's a dump Coke protest that didn't amount to much either. So, I have to ask myself and all of you... What is the frakking point?

If we're trying to get attention, fine, you did. But if we are trying to change policy, laws and frame of thinking, dumping liquor and soda pop ain't going to make a difference. Doing something for the sake of doing something don't mean nothing. What needs to done is something that has a long standing and effective impact. These boycotts just makes us look disorganized and true believers of the knee jerk reaction. We are capable of great things, why are we co-signing on these pipe dreams?

I ask for LGBT activists to end these boycotts and really work with Russian activists on something that can change history. These quick fixes and half assed ideas ain't doing anyone any favors.

WATCH President Obama's Speech at 50th Anniversary of March on Washington

Matt Damon on Batman and those Robin Rumors

Matt Damon weighed in on his Buddy for Life being Batman and about those Robin rumors.

Matt said:
"I think it will be great. It will be terrific. I know there are a lot of people grousing on the internet. I just think it's kind of funny. You know, he's not playing King Lear. It's Batman! Certainly within his skill set. If anybody saw Argo or The Town, and all the work he's been doing lately, it's way more nuanced and interesting and way more difficult than Batman! Batman just sits there with his cowl over his head and whispers in a kinda gruff voice at people. Bruce Wayne is the more challenging part of the role, and Ben will be great at that."
And Robin:
"I am a little older than Ben. I never saw Robin as older than Batman. Somebody sent me a picture actually. It was really funny. But it's safe to say I won't be Robin."
Maybe he could be Alfred?

Interesting Quote: Steve Lonegan

"It's kind of weird. As a guy, I personally like being a guy. I don't know if you saw the stories last year. They've been out for quite a bit about how he likes to go out at three o'clock in the morning for a manicure and a pedicure... Maybe that helps to get him the gay vote by acting ambiguous...I don't like going out in the middle of the night, or any time of the day, for a manicure and pedicure. It was described as his peculiar fetish. I have a more peculiar fetish. I like a good Scotch and a cigar. That's my fetish but we'll just compare the two."

You have to see it to believe it

Interesting Quote: Cory Booker

"People who think I’m gay, some part of me thinks it’s wonderful. Because I want to challenge people on their homophobia. I love seeing on Twitter when someone says I’m gay, and I say, ‘So what does it matter if I am? So be it. I hope you are not voting for me because you are making the presumption that I’m straight.’"
I hope he is, so we can get married.

Daniel Hernandez attacked in a Homophobic Recall Campaign

Daniel Hernandez Jr. was the intern who helped save Rep. Gabrielle Giffords’ life when she was shot. Fast forward a couple of years and now he's an elected member of a Tucson-area school board.

Right now, Daniel is in the middle of a recall election. The reason behind the recall has to do with some local political drama, but the sad part about it is how Daniel is being attacked. Some anonymous folks are attacking his sexuality and passing out this particular flyer.

This the 15th Anniversary of The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill

On Aug. 25, 1998, Lauryn Hill gave us her powerful solo debut album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. I remember the day I bought it! This album was fresh and inspiring; it wasn't like anything I'd ever heard before. So much raw passion and talent in her voice and lyrics were so on point. Trust me, I wasn't the same after that album.

I was living in Statesboro, GA at the time. I was trying to understand myself and what I had to offer. This album, actually helped me and gave me the push I needed. I wish she could give us more music like this. Maybe she will someday... Maybe.

In celebration of this amazing album, here is one of my favorite tracks from this masterpiece

My Take on the VMAs

So, I watched the VMAs (MTV Video Music Awards) last night and I'll tell you this... One, I'm old and two, it was interesting to see how music has changed... A lot.

Here is my review of the show
  • Lady Gaga's performance was meh and somewhat sloppy. She didn't win any fans with that opening act.
  • Miley Cyrus has grown up... into what, I don't know.
  • Robin Thicke is still hot, but that suit he wore made me want to scream Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice.
  • Rihanna looked high all through the night.
  • There were a lot songs I've never heard of.
  • If BET Awards celebrates Black music, the VMAs...
  • In fact, Macklemore won Best R&B/Rap at the VMAs
  • Without Beyonce, you saw what life would be like.
  • Justin Timberlake gave a long ass performance that was overhyped.
  • However, when N'Sync performed, all eyes were on Joey Fatone... HOT.
  • Lil Kim didn't look scary. And it's time for a new CD.
  • Watching Jaden Smith cream over Drake was priceless.
  • Drake is sooo Dreamy.
  • Macklemore brought out Jennifer Hudson for their hit, Same Love. That was nice.
  • A$AP Rocky and Jason Collins should never be on stage... EVER.
  • Katy Perry... Well, it's Katy Perry. I'll just leave it at that

Who did it better? Katy Perry or Grace Jones

Katy Perry performed her new hit 'Roar' at the VMAs. But it was brought to my attention (Thanks Belasco) that someone did a similar performance before Katy.

That someone is Grace Jones

Watch Katy's performance

Now watch Grace

I like Grace's performance
